Overview
Panch Pokhari Trek is one of the wilderness pilgrimage trek in Nepal. Panch Pokhari (4,100m.) lying towards the north of the Kathmandu valley is an isolated and wilderness religious site of Nepal. During Janai Purnima at August a festival is held at Panch Pokhari. Many Hindu and Buddhist devotees visit the site of Panch Pokhari. Panch Pokhari is the combination of the five serene Lake lying at an altitude of (4,100m.) considered as a sacred lake.
Panch Pokhari trek can also be considered as a cultural trek as you can visit different ethnic rural village en route and experience the rural Sherpa culture and take part in their typical festivals. The trek offers you the most stunning Mountain View of the spectacular mountains range like Langtang Lirung, Gosain Kunda, Rolwaling, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Jugal Himal range that includes Dorje Lakpa (6,966m.), Madiya (6,257m.) and Phurbi Chhyachu (6,637m.).
Panch Pokhari trek is flawless blend of the cultural and biological diversity, Natural beauty and religious trek. Panch Pokhari trek starts after you take a five hour car drive from Kathmandu to the place called Chautara. From Chautara trekking trail follows the steep up hills, crossing the valleys and pristine forests of Rhododendron. At the end of each day trek you will reach different ethnic rural villages where you enjoy their culture and warm welcome. As you reach the Panch Pokhari you will notice five turquoise lakes in picturesque environment of the place. There is a temple of Lord Shiva and two pilgrimage House. While returning back from the trek you will return back via Melamche. From where you will take a bus back to Kathmandu.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu 1310m
Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport transfer to your hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing / Cultural Day in Kathmandu Valley
Half day sightseeing around Kathmandu where your guide will escort you on a tour of Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines reflecting ancient local traditions. There is time to explore the city many places of interest on your own or take a rest while trekking permits are finalized.
Day 03: We drive from Kathmandu to Chautara (1,440m.)
Day 04: We trek from Chautara to Saule
Day 05: We trek from Saule to Kamikharka Danda
Day 06: We trek from Kamikhara to Chyochyo Danda
Day 07: We trek from Chyochyo Danda to Hile Bhanjyang (3,800m.)
Day 08: We trek from Hile bhanjyang to Nasempati (3,800m.)
Day 09: We trek from Nasempati to Panch Pokhari (4,050m.)
Day 10: We trek from Panch Pokhari to Gai Kharka (2,530m.)
Day 11: We trek from Gai Kharka to Yangri (2,800m.)
Day 12: We trek from Yangri to Tarke Gyang (2,390m.)
Day 13: We trek from Tarke Gyang to Sermathang (2,610m.)
Day 14: We trek from Sermathang to Malamchipul (880m.)
Day 15: We trek from Malamchipul to Kathmandu, By Bus. Stay overnight Hotel
Day 14: Free at Kathmandu, evening together farewell dinner to say good bye
Day 15: Departure, Transfer to Airport for your onward destination
